Happy Thanksgiving!

We had no Turkey, No turkey trot run, no pumpkin pie, but we did have, a flame light, deviled eggs and 2 chickens.
We did have all of our chinese teachers from our office and the senior 3 office, Mary Clare a fellow american teacher from Yueyang city, Chris, The guy from Cameroon that teaches in our town too, and many children = our chinese family.

I love get togethers, espiecially ones in China. We didn't even have a dining room table!,but everyone helped themselves and took part in our Thanksgiving.
All week we have been running around to find ingredients and cut up all the vegetables, I am still in shock that we got it all done.
Here is the menu:
2 chickens ( bought from a hotel and prepared for us)
1 can creamed corn mixed with 1 can regular corn
deviled eggs , minus the paprika
Beenie Wienees or something similar, hey theyve got b-bcue sauce
Spagehtti
Sweet N Sour Pork, american style with pineapple and a sweet sauce
Rice
Mashed Potatos

The Sweet N SOur pork went over really well but as the chinese love to comment on cooking they asked, "why is there no peppers in it, I think you should make it spicy next time and it would be very delicious."
The Mashed potatos also were in question, They thought they needed to be cooked longer. This comment actually puzzled us, cause how much longer can you cook mashed potatos? There mashed??
Deviled eggs were a hit, When asked why there called "deviled eggs " I replied , "because they're so good the devil had to have made them" He looked at me strangly then just started laughing, like I'm the crazy one with crazy beliefs.

The best part about the evening was that tonight was like Chritmas. Whoever told our friends that american people give gifts on thanksgiving, Im thankful for that guy. We received a beautiful flame lamp from the senior 3 teachers., and two huge bags of snacks from our senior 2 teachers. I also got a chinese fashion magazine from our chinese tutor.
The snacks were the funniest thought. SOme are bags of potato chips. They say on the bag translated, "Potato flavor potato chips" We also received Chocolate eggs rolls, and Swirlly SPicy Tofu. But the winner of the weird award defiently goes to some kind of snack that on the bottom tells us it is made at the shanghai cat food company!!!!!!
CHeck out the photos!

Happy ThanksGIving Everyone, Whereever you may be.
